I squeeze my cat and she makes funny noises too... But not this funny, btw I love animals and i wouldn't squeeze my cat if i knew it would hurt her... It's a noise she makes when angry not in pain, maynard has problems with gunviolence and many weird things, he wouldn't hurt a cat (to an extreme) or even much less ring a persons neck and stick a mike down their throat, that's absurd... I can't exactly say what he would and would not do cos i'm not him, but that's a little far fetched... The song sounds like whale cries and stuff... Even if it was made a different way... That's what it sounds like |

The last part of the song is the only reason i'm posting here right now... It's funny... The song is about hypocrisy, eg. Chino's sacred purity of woman to butt Fucking..... Bad teeth... Making no sense, am I... I like trip hop when i need to take a crap... The song mostly focuses on humans being blinded by full faith in one true power. Be it fashion and their newly acquired pink cellphone or God... Who's ann hardy anyway? A porn star... Sounds like it... (i live in a third world county with internet access) |

I dig the awesome power maynard puts in his voice, it's crunchy and sounds overpowering... So awesome, possibly my most favourite song ever... Weird that it took deftones to create exactly what i wanted, tool were just missing the mark by nano-meters... But tool is still my favourite band... |

Anyone notice that in the lyrics of ''Crawl Away'' there's a (uncited in the lyrics) quote of the chorus of this song after the bridge.... Just for interest sakes... Just cos joe satriani is one of the greatest solo guitarist in the world doesn't mean everyone must listen to him, it just means that those who do have a more defined (not better) taste in music... Personally i love Joe satriani, dick dale, frank zappa and hendrix and this song is sort of an anthem for the people who care... |

Hey! Don't insult Paul D'amour like that! He left the band because he wanted to start his own band aswell as continuing to persue his film career. He's got nothing to do with this song. I hate it when i go to Incubus posts and see on all the songs on a crow left of the murder how everybody insults Alex Katunich for leaving the band. I listen to Tool and i'm proud of doing so because it defines that i have a good taste in music and even though it's sort of wrong of me to think this way i really hope that people don't listen to tool and that their fans are people who listen to them because they love them the way i do, if not even more... It should be like a test to see if your motives for being a fan is right. I'd like it if people asked themselves, why do i listen to Tool and i hope they come up with a better answer than.. They rock or they are cool. And here's a big raise of the wine glass to all the true Tool fans out there (caduceus wine). |

I bought this cd right after i got falling into infinity from an exchange student from switzerland. I realise that falling into infinity (being the album that got me into dream theater) is not nearly their potential and now i love this band even more. I have a feeling song meanings was created specifically for progressive rock (why would you want to know the meaning of lame r and b songs). Anyway, this song is awesome and i don't know what to say cos it's pretty much self explanatory. Another thing i like about DT is that their so deft at playing instruments that somehow the sound says so much more than any leadsinger ever can (much like tool, but tool has a awesome leadsinger aswell) maybe there should be a whatthesoundsays.net |

Michael portnoy is one of the best drummers I've ever heard but however i look at it i still think danny carey is better... Next to tool this is one of my favourite bands |

Hey trexor why instead of bitching about how much the albums suck and how lame it is , start listening not only to MJK but maybe the instrumentals aswell, after all tool is a BAND , its not a one man thing.. I promise you most assuredly that you won't ever be able to write chops like Justin chancellor or shred like adam jones and most definitely never ever ever be able to even resemble the mathematical ingenuity and pure skill of Danny Carey's ability to play his percussive instruments. So why not enjoy the instrumentals for a change if you don't like the lyrics , sometimes the instruments say alot more than any leadsinger can. |

This song is kind of like a message to people. When the song starts you hear about this monster of a man who feeds off tragedy; then later it's like he shows how we are no different to him.... Maynard really rocks.. The meaning is a little more than nations vegetating infront of the television feeding off the bullshit past of people dying... To me it's more of a don't judge message.... But that's the miracle of Tool, it's always open to absurd interpretation. |
