The Polyphonic Spree – Section 16 (One Man Show) Lyrics 19 years ago
I don't think it's so much leaving someone else who's right for you, but leaving a version of yourself that isn't right. I see it as the breaking up of a relationship in which the members weren't being themselves, and then they realizing that it isn't so hard to be yourself: "It means a lot to find it so easy"

of Montreal – Let's Do Everything for the First Time Forever Lyrics 19 years ago
This is such a happy love song... Really captures the innocence of those first feelings of elation.

Could anyone explain to me "madeline meech" and "hanze cercheek transposing scores by satie on the beak of an inimical red breasted lark"? The rest of it is really straightforward and nice, but those parts leave me confused.

The Format – Inches and Falling Lyrics 19 years ago
you're memory with nothing to show

It's all those almost-relationships, the "things" and flings so common everywhere.

Ben Folds – Fired Lyrics 19 years ago
"Everywhere I go damn there I am"

You wish you could know what it's like to not constantly be surrounded by yourself, to not have that voice of insecurity nagging at you... but no matter what, you can't get away from yourself.

Stars – Life Effect Lyrics 19 years ago
It's called the life effect because it's a part of life. Giving the falling apart of the relationship that name just weaves it into the fabric of life, making it unavoidable and absolute.

Stars – Heart Lyrics 19 years ago
"I'll make it all up for you"

Usually, it would be "I'll make it up to you" instead of for you. That implies that they're making it up, that it isn't real. It adds a different touch to it, if you look at it that way, as if the singer isn't really still in love with them, but just making it up for the sake of... who knows what.

Or maybe it's a canadian thing and I'm way off.
