I've seen a live recording (youtube) and at the end Thom says "that was for Indonesia... (cough) and all the people who have money invested there." That seems to agree with the corrupt company idea, but in Indonesia not S. America. Anyone know if they grow bananas in Indonesia?! |

| The Independent (a respected broadsheet) ran a front page that was all white and just had really small print saying "whitewash?" | |

Andrew Gilligan (working free-lance for the BBC at the time) interviewed Dr Kelly which led to a report claiming that the dossier of evidence that took the UK to war in Iraq had been "sexed up." Kelly had been involved in forming the dossier, and found that it had been been added to, call it "artistic licence" to be more likely to convince parliament to vote for the war. Particularly contentious was the 45 minute claim, that Iraq could assemble W.M.D and launch them within 45 minutes. Other shady evidence like spy plane photos of oil barrels (or chemical weapon barrels!!) were added to increase the appearance of the threat that Iraq posed. Following the BBC report, claiming the government wasn't happy and appointed Lord Hutton to investigate the BBC story (and Kelly's death). This guy was perhaps the person you'd most want to run an "open inquiry!" He help find the British army not guilty of murder on Bloody Sunday (when they fired into the crowds of protesters), this guy would have found the Nazis not responsible if he'd been asked to! Surprisingly enough, Kelly killed himself, the BBC are very bad and the government are squeaky clean. Unsurprisingly, the media were in hysterics at the results with even the "unbiased" BBC jumping on the media bandwagon of referring to it as the "Hutton Whitewash." The channel 4 "Bremar, Bird and Fortune" had some of the most cutting satire, featuring (fictional) "follow-up claims" of Lord Hutton, suggesting the BBC was responsible for most of the Iraqi resistance and that they probably helped mop up the blood to make it seem more like a murder, of perhaps even killed Kelly just to frame the government! |

| The most impressive thing is how he actually manages to keep singing for about 3 minutes without much air! | |

The song on R+J is great but it is not a patch on original (released as a B-side on the Street spirit (fade out) single taken from "the bends" album). In the proper version the base line is slightly less tingy and the guitar is really strong. Get the best, or hear jonny greenwood play live! And stop saying it is to do with R+J! The best part of the movie was the music! |
