i think hes talking about himself in a figureative form (on and off) "cheap lips, soft eyes, lost in the blinding lights" the girl is known to be with alot of guys but she looks so innocent, shes just confused with her life. "first nights alone" meaning he just met her or hung around with her and neither slept together or anything like that so he slept with the feeling of being with her that day "second best" meaning she probably has a boyfriend already and theres nothing he can do to change it (they were hanging out as friends) "let him soar" means let him dream? let him dream about her. and all of the sucidal words are how deeply he feels about her, but he'll never actully kill himself. |
