| WILD FLAG – Romance Lyrics | 14 years ago |

second line sounds like "way I squeeze you" after that, I have no idea, it sounds like "turn my head move," haha. In the choruses, it doesn't sound like "that's how we like" to me at all -- I hear "hands down, we like we like what we like" every time. I think "living a folly" is actually "living for me" also, "you were my make up / my -recreator-?" I think "wreck me then resurrect me" is right, too. |

I always thought it was about someone in radio - thus the references to the "tower," "favorite little record girl," you can "hear her fine" and she "makes the choices" - et cetera. Perhaps "Shine on me will you please" is a plea to play the singer's records on the air. :) I've never heard the original, but it would be tough to get any better than this - it's one of my favorites! |

| Janis Joplin – Son of a Preacher Man (Dusty Springfield cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Someone tags a Dusty Springfield song as being Janis Joplin's and distributes in on Kazaa... and apparently that's good enough reason to post the lyrics as hers, all over the internet. People should check their sources, honestly. | |

| M.I.A. – Galang Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The "147'd you" is definitely a reference to the telephone thing - watch the video. The first time she sings it, she's pantomiming picking up a phone. The second time, there are little paintings of cell phones in the background. | |
| Andrew Bird – The Naming of Things Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I always thought this was a "you have a God complex" song. To me, it sounds like he's telling a person that while their persona and abilities are impressive, he/she is moving too quickly and has almost too much faith in his/her self. I thought the "naming of things" bit was a Biblical reference, but maybe I'm reading too much into it. ;) | |
| The Beatles – Michelle Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think the best thing about this song is how it sounds so... French. I know that sounds ridiculous, but to me it isn't. It's not just because of the lyrics - but because of the "ooh"s and the instrumentation and the way Paul sings it. I think even if the song did not have the French lyrics in it, it would remind me of the days I spent there. :) | |
| Raine Maida – One Second Chance Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Sure about that one, Foram? There's also a Canadian politician Anne McLellan, and a George B. McClellan who fought for the Union during the American Civil War and is often criticized by modern historians for not taking any chances, and possibly dragging out the war 2-3 years longer than it needed to be. | |
