Regina Spektor – Chemo Limo Lyrics 19 years ago
I love how it's all melancholy and then breaks into the staccato and wonderfully Regina, "No thank you, no thank you, no thank you. I ain't about to pay for this shit..." Only she could make obscenities so cute and dainty.

P.S. I think the song is pretty straightforward lyrically. A mother with cancer dreams that she rejects taking her chemotherapy (it's the "shit" that is "making [her] tired) and instead chooses to "go out in style" and spend the little money she has (that would have paid for the chemo) on a limo ride with her and her four children. It's quite depressing, but a wonderful song.

Amazing. They lyrics, the tune, the half-rapping/singing. All fantastically amazing.

That is all.

I have a particular liking to this song. And I also find myself singing "love is forever love is forever" like she does. Yay.

Regina Spektor – Your Honor Lyrics 19 years ago
I don't know... for some reason I don't particularly love this song like I do with most of-- okay scratch that, ALL-- of Regina's songs. Maybe just because it's just so different, I don't know?

But I do, loooove the prelude to it on Soviet Kitsch with the little boy whispering! And apparently, I'm not the only one. ;)

Regina Spektor – Reginasaurus Lyrics 19 years ago
This seems like a little poem someone would doodle in their notebook during a boring class (aka math). And I love how she sings it that way. It's adorable. I only wish I had written this cute little tune.

Regina Spektor – Ne Me Quitte Pas Lyrics 19 years ago
I've just got to say; I love this song. I often find myself walking down the halls of my school singing "ne me quitte Paaaa" under my breath. It is so freaking catchy. I absolutely love it. Regina Spektor is brilliant.

Regina Spektor – Fidelity Lyrics 19 years ago
I read somewhere that the 2000 movie "High Fidelity" (based on the book by Nick Hornby of the same title, starring John Cusack) was the inspiration for this song-- hence the title "Fidelity." I'm not entirely sure, but after some analysis (below), it would definitely not surprise me if it were based off the movie.

"High Fidelity" is about a record store owner who is a huge music buff and is basically afraid of commitment ("I never loved nobody fully, always one foot on the ground..."). His current girlfriend, Laura dumps him. Then he remembers the past and goes through his top five failed relationships. (I hear in my mind all these voices, I hear in my mind, all these words, I hear in mind, all this music and it breaks my heart..." referencing him remembering the past and all the heartbreak/break ups, also the movie has a lot of music, seeing as the protagonist is a record store owner and there is a very apparent soundtrack). In the end, realizes that he really loves Laura and that she is really the one for him. He cleans up his act, and in the end he finally wins her back, and they have a fufilling relationship. It's a great movie and "Fidelity" is a great song!

Regina Spektor – Human of the Year Lyrics 19 years ago
First I would like to comment on how this is a wonderful song. I just love how she sings "Human, human of the year, you" and near the end the lighter singer/piano "Outside the cars are beeping..."

Anyways, I wonder if this could have anything to do with Time magazine's 'Person of the Year.' Also, this year the winner is "You" (literally), and maybe she heard about this and wrote this song? Carl Projektorisinki is symbolic of everyone. He's just your average Carl Projectorisinki. ;)
