| Thursday – How Long Is the Night? Lyrics

That's amazing. Truly.
I see desperation, and pain, and the agony of a man who's too thoughtful and quiet to scream about it, so he just lies there at night, sleep the last thing on his mind, thinking about the things that have happened to him and probably crying. He's wishing the night would end so he can get on with life and push it to the back of his mind again. It's probably autumn, and cold, and bleak, and he turns on his side in bed and stares out of the window and sees the leaves falling and how beautiful it looks.
(jesus christ i'm emo.)
They do it so well live too. At the end Geoff just was kneeling at the front of the stage all hunched up and looked completely broken, like the song was actually happening to him. |

| Thursday – I Am The Killer Lyrics

This sounds really weird but to me it sounds like an actual killer on trial... he's going through the trial and in the process he's living his life, like, between court appearances and thinking about what he did. He's saying "I am no killer" because he's pleading not guilty but at the end he says that he is because... he did. And only then can he admit it to himself. |

I adore this song - it's prettyy much my favourite song by Thursday and one of my favourite songs ever. My favourite lyrics is "these are the symptoms of letting go of all our hope" because I think you can see it everywhere - as I grow up and learn more about the world and current affairs, I begin to see more and more that nothing's perfect and nothing ever will be, and people really do know it and have lost all hope of an actual perfect life. I could write a whole essay about what those few words have made me think and their effect on me. |

In my opinion (and I think it's actually posted on some sites) he said "I can never love you/I can never reach you". I LOVE this song - the fact it's so unrefined and rough just makes it all the better, and leaves it open for even more interpretation. |
