This is such a powerful song. My best mate died on the 9th of March in 2007 in a freak car accident, his tire popped when he was doing 120km/h and he flung onto the wrong side of the road and a car collided with his side and his car instantly burst into flames. I got out of the car about 5 minutes before the accident. I understand the importance of photos of friends first hand, I have about 3 of that friend that I can find. I went to the crash site the next day and found his necklace, which was amazing because it was pure silver but didn't get melted. I still wear it to this day so I have him with me. This song is just a brutal attack of emotion to anyones heart whether they've lost someone or not. Simply astounding. |

All_Is_Dream, please shut up. Now it's time for me to correct you. You sit there comparing Gallows with full blown Punk bands, when Gallows are in fact, Hardcore, a music genre which derived from Punk, but since you're such a music genius, you would know this, right? But with that said, I am not saying they are pure Hardcore, and they do have a HUGE punk influence in their sound. You say how they attract racist angry twats right? Well wouldn't that make your statement a stereotypical one, as you are just saying that all who listen to this band MUST be this or that. The Clash had a wide range of people who listened to them but not all of them were leather wearing punks. I actually like a few of their songs and I sure as hell don't wear leather and listen to punk as a top priority. Also, a lot of punk bands that you stated had songs that dealt with problems that they saw were the big thing to them as you might like to call it. Obviously to Gallows, and as previously stated by someone else, they hate how girls are still mistreated even after all the effort they went through to prove themselves as equals. One of the biggest crimes committed nowadays is rape, and majority is a man to a woman. I'm not saying all they talk about is this subject, but who are you to say a band is crap because they are expressing their anger through music. Would you prefer them to do it with fighting or war? People all over the world express their feelings through music in different ways, whether it's love, anger, or happiness. Just because these guys swear and don't talk about politicians doesn't mean that you can smash them down for what they want to express. Oh and regarding your violent and thuggish statement, do you know how a lot of punk bands were seen as when the punk movement began? Violent, thuggish, and rebellious. Sorry to say this, but I really hate reading everyone's opinion on this. You mostly all seem to just go "yeah they are Christian which means they only write about God". In my opinion this song sounds more like a relationship ending... Now he is going to build up his confidence again on relationships?) | The album is based off this song. 12/23/93 was the death of Jeffrey Moreira's sister, Nillie Moriera. The title of the album is The Opposite of December, then in a subtext, A Season of Seperation. December being the 12th month and the death being in the 12th month it is pretty explanatory that the album name and the song go together. Also, December is the month of Christmas, a time of being together and the opposite of together is being seperated and that is what has happened. | |
