This song can be about someone feeling out of place or misunderstood for any reason. To me, it sounds like a child coming out to their parents. They are saying they aren't crazy and nothing is "wrong" with them just because they are gay. They feel alone and cry because no one understands and people try to "solve" their "problems".. When she sings "this is who I am", it gives me chills.

I think it's simply a girl who is very pure. I don't think she has to be emotionally stunted in some way. She's longing to grow up and actually experience and feel different things, but she's going about it the wrong way with the wrong kind of people. I love near the end when Regina makes those weird noises. Any meaning? Or just noises? Maybe this girl is finally feeling something??? |

I think BUFFYX has it right. I think the Samson/Delilah story could be a metaphor for Regina and her own relationships, but it could also be telling a "what if" story. Imagine if after cutting his hair, nothing changed and they just went about their lives. History books and the Bible wouldn't mention them because nothing extraordinary happened with them. I love that idea and this song. Brilliant! |

The rumour is that this song is a tribute to Michael Jackson because the working title of the song was "Jacko". Aside from his craziness, he is a person who believes in happiness and people getting along and joining together, etc. Just a thought. |
