| Ok Matt is actually a friend of mine and he told me why he wrote it. It was his senior year in highschool when he wrote this. he went to a small boarding school in new hampshire so everyone knew everyone at the school. anyway the night before he was supposed to play at an all school assembly he found out his girl friend was cheating on him. So he wrote the song that night and played it infront of the whole school the next day.
