Damn, you guys are reading way too far into the "nautica" thing. It's called that because it sounds like the loop is saying "Comfy in nautica" towards the end, after the singing. It's subtle, but once you hear it, it's so obvious. |

This song is not about an abortion. Are you kidding? It seems to me that it's about the death of a friend, who isn't necessarily a female, as most posters assumed. The "smaller than my wife imagined" line isn't literal, as in a fetus, it's about how highly he talked of his friend to his wife, and how his wife was invisioning, like, a god, but it's really just a normal person. It's almost definitely about the death of a friend or sibling, whom I believe to be a man. |

To person who said that the "When you've been where we've been" was about a hard up-bringing, you're way off. I'd say they're pretty obviously talking about being famous and talking to your heroes, who turn out to be jerks. And the "Just 'cause we're havin' a say-so" verse is about how, just because they're making music their way and not being molded (like play-doh) by their record company, they probably won't have a record company in five years, and everyone will forget about them and follow the new trends. |

If the debate is not solved yet, it's most certainly "god complex," because there is no such thing as a "gun complex." God complex actually makes a lot more sense.
