I made a fanvid out of this song about Jack Harkness from 'Doctor Who', about his painful past and the fact that he can't die, about the fact that something he wants to. I had to listen to this song over 96 times to complete the vid, I still love it and listen to it every chance I get. Now *that* is saying something. Gorgeous song. |

I love this song, especially the acoustic version which is utterly gorgeous. To me the lyrics sound like the captured solder of a revolution. "Just because I'm losing Doesn't mean I'm lost Doesn't mean I'll stop Doesn't mean I would cross" Telling the King/oppressor: We may be down, but we are not out, we will keep fighting, we will not bow before you. "Just because I'm hurting Doesn't mean I'm hurt" This is the only part I'm not sure about. It could be about torture, telling the interigater that he will not break. "Doesn't mean I didn't get What I deserved No better and no worse I just got lost Every river that I tried to cross Every door I ever tried was locked" I love this bit and can totally see it as him admitting that he went too far in his fight, that he still believes in his cause, but he choose the wrong way to support it which is why he got caught: this is Karma. "You might be a big fish In a little pond Doesn't mean you've won 'Cause a long may come A bigger one" You might control us now, but victory is not yet yours because there's always something (neighboring places, grassroots movement)/someone (all the opposing people/the real king/God) that is stronger than you. "And you'll be lost Every river that you tried to cross Every gun you ever held went off Ohhh and I'm... Just waiting until the firing stopped Ohhh and I'm... Just waiting 'til the shine wears off" Now that he can't fight he has to wait until "The King's" plans cause his own doom and others see the truth, find the worm beneath the shiny surface and (insert relevant bad guy here) is finally given his just desserts. |

| That's what I was thinking too. A child telling his mother or father that "it's okay, you can let me go now, I can make it". | |
| Ben Lee – Apple Candy Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I always thought of it as a love song from a guy who has fallen in love with a nun. The "Him" being God which personally is the only way I can see the line: "Call me by his name" working. She "smells like apple candy" to him because she's the forbidden fruit. |

Is it really "If I don't believe in heroin, how can I believe in dope"? I thought it was 'If I don't believe in Hell, how can I believe in Hope' which fits with the whole lost faith theme and is just a gorgeous line.... |

What gorgeous lyrics. I haven't been able to find the song to listen to it yet, but I am in love with the lyrics. I don't know if she read 'Son of a Witch' as well as 'Wicked', but this song makes me think of Liir from that book being lead and healed by Candle and her music as light and music were weaved all through that part of the book. |

I love this song, definitely one of my favourites. In my humble opinion, the song is being sung from the point of view of a best friend or even a family member watching someone who use to have such hope lose it bit by bit until they're just left looking defeated in an deserted island of their own making and it's scaring the singer. "And I try not to worry, but you've got me terrified It's like you're in some kind of hurry to say goodbye" |

| Disturbed – Inside the Fire Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I freaking love this song. It's totally heavy rock and yet the lead singer actually has a voice that can raise above the chaos of the music to sing well and be heard. It's just brilliant, definitely my favourite at the moment. | |

I love this song, the desperate, yearning voice in which he sings 'please' just grips my heart everytime. I think the best description of the meaning of it that I ever heard was what my friend said when she gave it to me: "The lover is constantly emo about someone else, maybe an Ex, and the singer is kind of saying '...let's just pretend you're happy here with me, okay?' ". And if the pure emotion in the song is anything to go by, the situation and the pain is killing them both. Ihis is definitely one of my favourite songs, I could just listen to it over and over again. |
