| Radiohead – Where I End and You Begin. (The Sky Is Falling In.) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Sure this song is open for interpretation; however, I would have to say sulily has hit the nail on the head. It's my belief that those people who claimed you could "dance" to this song in the early stages of this posting have no idea what Radiohead is about... This song is pure misery, folks. It's as depressing as York has ever written save for his solo album, "The Eraser." My suggestion: Don't revel in this kind of song. It is certainly one of the finest pieces of musical art to come out of this genre in a long time...but it's deathly dark. |

| Hot Chip – So Glad To See You Lyrics | 19 years ago |

To me, this is the best song on "The Warning." I'm not usually a fan of minimalist computer-generated music, but Hot Chip strikes me as an alternative to a genre troubled by terrible lyrics and awful singers. Most critics find that Hot Chip's music is either (1) not music at all or (2) is a bit pretentious. And to those naysayers, I say, listen to this song. We are definitely missing the lyrics at the end of this piece, but the poetry of such simple words here: I have but one true friend She sings to me In my solitude And I know her name I tried to know her In all her changes ...but I don't know her It asks a good question. With so many changes occuring in the world, will we ever fully know someone? It's difficult, but we can try. |
