i mean, not that i don't believe it says Jane S in the book or that its about some girl, but he's totally saying J.S. and wouldn't it make sense that he's saying his initials as if he's talking from the girls perspective? since it mentions that the person who is talking says they are taking it too far, has wicked pride, and is just kidding about the whole ordeal....i mean, i don't want to pretend like i know what i'm talking about, but that's just the interpretation i got when i listened to it before reading all these posts....i was just curious about how the "ian curtis (ah!) wish list" fit into this so i looked it up. |

as far as suggestions go, i mean theres nothing exactly like this cd, even his earlier one is nothing like it. however, i'm very into beach boys inspired psychedelic music....check out the artists from the elephant 6 collective in athens georgia....thats like neutral milk (on avery island and everything is are cds that sound similar), also the gerbils, circulatory system, frosted ambassador, major organ and the adding machine, the music tapes, olivia tremor control....all very off the wall and great in their own rite, but has similar influences. hope that helps. i love this song. |

love this song. i'm a very hesitant dude to get in a relationship. fell for a girl and after a while she told me she was also dating another guy and i couldn't deal with that. listened to a promise non stop and slept in grave yards and brought her flowers everyday for a week, then she moved to kansas. this song sums that up for me. |

i totally understand where you're coming from when you say you can't understand what he's saying. i've been listening to both xitsj and xiu xiu forever now and oddly only a day ago realized this and hot karl have the same lyrics, though hot karl is WAAAAAAAAY easier to access and really feel, however its also a great stepping stone for getting into pink city if you don't already. |

i couldn't begin to really explain where i get this impression since there are so many words in here that i would have a hard time explaining. i'd say the most accessible pathway for my understanding of it is when trish says "defend the fawn, then do" and at the end "die, cut" it seems like a cathartic wish to lash out about something like a sexual abuse (though not necessarily autobiographical) - i get that from the callus caress context codine, etc...but how will we ever know? |
