I'm not sure on the meaning but I do know I love the title 11:12 Reminds me of when you miss your 11:11 wish by a minute and you're like 'damn' |

| Fall Out Boy – This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Haha I love this song, it's different but catchy Yeah I agree with the numberous of people who quoted Pete, this song is making fun of the scene. The song title gives it away I think This ain't a scene, it's an arm race An arm race is a race where usually there's no real purpose but to come out on top of whoever it is your against Scene kids tend to get really competitive and then they start with their I started that trend and they start even more and basically the only reason they keep trying to come out with something new is to come out on top. This song is really fun. I love these two lines. "This bangwagon's full please catch another" Reminds me of all the emo/scene kids always sitting there complaining about how everyone's jumping onto the bangwagon "Primadonnas of the gutter" Reminds me of those over the top scene girls with the choppy hair at the top and the extensions when it just looks overdone and trashy, but yet they're still really vain about their hair. |

I agree with Seewa too She exits her gold chariot "One pump at a time. Cloaked in her matching pin-striped Arsenal of next month's nows. She grazes through the dark, Downtown concrete planes. She seeks a special kill. A flesh she's never had before. A prey whose blood is rich with love." A girl is rich and she has everything but love, which is what it means in "a prey she's never had before" so she's never been in love because she lives in such a superficial world "I want to sink my teeth into Skin I can't see through. I'll clench my jaw deep down inside. Lick my lips hoping to find A taste of life with you." This is just really figurative language, not vampire related I think. "Skin I can't see through" means someone who isn't shallow someone who thinks deeper than what's on the surface. "Holes freckle her hips. She's sick of breaking necks With designer prints, French tips. Her shoes as red as lips. Every meal tastes alike. I want something I can bite. Like the tethers of this diet. Let the shackles fill my cheeks. Feed these itching jowls. Flush my painted teeth. My palate has been cleansed." She really wants to fall in love in someone who is real blah blah "Jewels and stones cut so precise. Held up by a ring. Catches all glances and looks Hoping to distract from The finger to the left So bare and unfurnished Named for sporting such hardware." She's got this beautiful huge ring but it's on her middle finger, not on the marriage finger thus "named for sporting such hardware" "With dreams cut so precise She's held up by her strings. She catches all glances and looks Hoping to find someone that can Dress her naked hand. I'll tear my heart right out And have you sport it as hardware." This last one is from the guy's point of view, he loves her and knows that she wants love so he offers his heart instead of anything materialistic |

Okay well the way I see it it's definitely about rape "That night he caged her. Bruised and broke her. He struggled closer. Then he stole her. Violet wrists and then her ankles. Silent Pain. Then he slowly saw their nightmares were his dreams." That's basically saying that he kidnapped her, beat her, and raped her But then I look at this "His little whispers. Love Me. Love Me. That's all I ask for. Love Me. Love Me. He battered his tiny fists to feel something. Wondered what it's like to touch and feel something." I think that she maybe she had a baby as a result of that rape. Usually when girls get pregnant from the result of a rape and decide to keep it, they become really distant of the baby because everything about their existence reminds them of that painful memory. The line "I am Hannah's regrets." makes me think that sometimes she regrets having the baby. But of course it's not the baby's fault it was the result of a rape so all it can do is sit there wishing for his mother to love him like any mother would love her child. The last lines are really blurry to me "Monster. How should I feel? Turn the sheets down. Murder ears with pillow lace. There's bath tubs. Full of glow flies. Bathe in kerosene. Their words tattoed in his veins. " Someone kills themelves maybe the rapist? Not really sure that part is really blurry to me. |
