I could be way off base, but I felt the song conveyed imagery of hipsters being pigeons. "They will eat right out of your hand," and "They seem wild but they are so tame" paired with them just repeating "Rococo" over and over (pigeons sound a bit more like roo-coo-coo, but close enough). I agree that Rococo is meant to refer to the art movement, but I believe that is part of the point. They (hipster/pigeons) don't know that. They just know that's the cool thing to say. I also love the parallels, especially that they both end up a form of urban pest. |

Funny how many listens it took before I caught that she's singing about Spanaway, WA. It's a place just south of Tacoma. The air force base she mentions is McChord, and yeah, the planes do fly pretty damn low over it. |
