i heard it was about god and all that...i could see that view. for example: He’s a stranger to some, And a vision to none (some don't know God and no one would want to be in his position) For a fortune he'd quit,(if his 'fortune' - or all the people in this world - would become believers, god would give up earth, or something along those lines) But it’s hard to admit, How it ends and begins, (god wouldnt want to necessarily admit that and it's hard to tell when and where everything ends/begins, for he's living in eternity) On his face is a map of the world,(it's god...therefore he knows everything and you can see everything on it) From yesterday, it’s coming! From yesterday, the fear! From yesterday, it calls him, But he doesn't want to read the message here (the time where he most make the 'final decision' is rapidly approaching and calling god but he doesn't want it to happen so soon. he feels horrible since he wants more believers, yet so many people are turning him down) yet i can see where a soldier, as well as many other things, might fit into this role as well. i don't feel like going into depth with that one...i'm just not sure in general. but that was my feeble attempt. |

i'm constantly singing this song, basically just the chorus...that part is easily stuck in my head. anyway i also think he's being pretty sarcastic: i mean she even cooks me pancakes and alka seltzer when my tummy aches if that ain't love then i don't know what love is but i think he's basing it on somebody's first reaction of how a person feels about a new girlfriend/boyfriend. for example, you know how when you first get a girl/boyfriend, you're thinking, 'wow, this person is amazing.' then after a while, it's not as good of a relationship as you originally thought. idk, just my take on it. |
