that is ironic. my favorite lyric is "i made my shoes shine with my coal. but the polish didn't shine the hole." you know- you can make everything look fine on the outside. but that doesn't change the inside. mostly |

to me this song is from two different thoughts. one is sarcastic, in a childish way even. because brock knows. he knows that most people out there are brainwashed. and he is speaking from a brainwashed, emo kid, point of view. so the whole "i wanna live in a city with no friends and family. i'm gonna look out the window of my color t.v." is about how stupid people escape their problems; which is by pretending they aren't there. and the other part, "through cracks in the wall etc." is an explanation of how only a few people see the stupidity of others, "someone smart said nothing at all." they. the ones who gave the reciept. they're the media. the t.v. and the decal man, he's all about image, because that's what decals are- an image. and image isn't important, unless you watch too much t.v.. and if you do, you are brainwashed enough to think that you need an image or you need to act a certain way to feel special or cool. which is exactly what they want you to do. act the way they tell you to. and brock is angry at all the others stupidity. that's what the song is about. |
