a) The song name comes from a singer writing "Kurt smells like teen spirit" on a wall (i can't remember her name, just that she sang the intro to Letterbomb by Green Day). It therefore has nothing to do with deodrants or any other crap you may be lead to believe.

This song isn't "clearly" about Lennon as some of you seem to claim. This song was infact written, as previously noted, during the early nineties and it's about the grunge scene and it's self-destructive attitude. I believe that it was a song written in particular about the infamous and amazing Kurt (Not Kirk) Cobain a few months before he took his own life. It is a beautiful song and is (in my opinion of course) on of the best written. xx |
