This is probably my favorite Regina song, and it's the entire reason I read Ethan Frome. I really love the last verse and the way that Regina sings the whole song. I'm not sure what it's about, though, other than the fact that everything costs money. |

I wish the person who typed the lyrics hadn't messed it up, but I really do love this song. Not many people could write a song about taking advantage of a drunk girl without sounding like a total ass, but Jesse somehow managed it. |

This interview with John Feldmann from Alternative Press (Issue #228, July 2007, pg. 158) tells what some of the noises are from the beginning of the song:
BM: There's definitely a lot of whiz-bang stuff going on in the background. What stood out for you, creatively?
JF: For "Find A Way," we took everything out of my refrigerator. I had this idea to record typewriter noises, so I found this vintage 1920s typewriter. We duct-taped Quinn and put a mic up to his mouth. Then we ripped the duct tape and recorded the noises that came out of his mouth, along with the ripping noises. Bert took a bunch of whipped cream hits, and we recorded him with that nitrous oxide buss and lighting a cigarette--all this crazy stuff--and made a loop out of it. It's unlike anything I've ever done before; it's like this food loop. [Laughs.] It was definitely the most experimental record I've ever made. |
