I could be wrong here, but I've attended a few concerts and spoke with people who knew Sully...and evidently this song is about....Shinedown. Apparently Sully started it as an inside joke about Shinedown upstaging him on tour, and jokingly saying they'd undermine his career just when he started making money (hence the chorus). He had jokingly performed a rendition as a blues song, which is where the harmonica comes into play at the beginning |
