I see this song as a man confronting an abusive parent as an adult, in a violent altercation. Perhaps he knocks him down, and he says something like "Oh My God", which is where he says "Good god he's looking down on me", to which the former child says, "No, I'm not Jesus." Other evidence can be found with the following verses: "I thought you were a good man I thought you talked to god You hippocratic, messianic, child abusing, turn satanic". "And the innocence you spoiled Found a way to live" It has nothing to do about Christianity, nothing to do about priests. I think it's pretty clear when outlined like this. It's about a child abusing father, confronted by his son later in life violently. He thought his father was a good man because he prayed, but later in life he realized how horrible he had been treated. I picture him knocking him over and towering over him, and his father thinking, "Good God, he's looking down on me." |

| Anyone who has seen the video should understand the meaning of this song. It's a satirical piece based on the war in Iraq. In the end of the video they have a 'car bombing' with a kid in one of those fisher price plastic cars, not to mention when they pull the bear down, it's symbolic of when they pulled the statue of Saddam Hussein down early on in the war. Plus the kid who throws the plane into the 'two towers' of blocks in the beginning of the video which sets it all off. And if finally ends showing cuts between the kids and a military funeral procession, ending with them sliding the coffin into the back of the hearse. Really sad... | |

| I think it's a song from the perspective of a guy who is announcing the band who's about to come on stage, and it's very well done. This song kicks ass. It'll prolly be the first song on their new album too, not sure if its out yet. | |

I think the big controversy is over how the song ends: "The pistol shaking in my hands And all I can hear is the sound" I take this to mean that he kills himself. The pistol is shaking in his hands cause he is afraid to pull the trigger. All he hears is the sound because that's the last thing he ever hears after he pulls the trigger. However, it could be him shooting his loved one as well. It could be shaking in his hands because he loves her still and doesnt want to do it and is scared. All he hears is the sound because everything else is just faded away. He is so upset or mad or in intense emotional state that he doesnt really understand what he's doing until the bang of the gun registers maybe. We will never truly know what the meaning is unless the band comes out and says it, because it's written to really mean both of them. I somehow draw a connection to the suicide tho. |
