| Owl City – Hello Seattle Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Whats this song about? Note what adam says about it in a recent interview... "FNF: We read that you recently visited Seattle for the first time. What is it about Seattle that has always fascinated you? Adam: The fact that people eat tartar sauce with their french fries rather than ketchup. I wrote a song about the city because I'd never been there and had always wondered what it was like. I'm fascinated by anything that has to do with the ocean, so I suppose a city by the sea seems as likely thing to sing about as any. I had a great time there." Song about a city... and everything that he finds facinating about it. Simple musical fun... |

| Snow Patrol – Open Your Eyes Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Everyone has their demons but to varying degrees. Some peoples lives are taken over by hurts, scars and things from the past, things they cant seem to shake or escape. Loving and living daily life with a person who is thrashing their way through a depression or dealing with deep emotional hurts/scars can be an exhausting process. Sometimes in the process of dealing with their shit they hurt the ones they love and who love them. It's not that they want to, but cant help it because of the place in life they are in. This is what I think the song is about: The singer desperatly wants to lead his love through this deep valley, if only she would open her eyes and look into his and stop listening to the lies she hears about herself. He is saying take my hand and we will walk through this step by step, regardless of how tired I become or how hurt I get in the process. The first thing in getting away from the lies (that would take her sould or fire/spirit) is to open her eyes. He's saying "please open your eyes, look at me and how much I love you, look into my eyes and trust me to lead you out of this". The song ends with a promise: that he wont waste a minuite without her, and conversly any moment without her would be a wasted one on their journey through life together. Thats what I saw... |

| Norah Jones – Broken Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think that sometimes people go through things in life, situations or relationship or hard times in general, that leave them battered and broken, close to emotional death. Its not to say that the broken person be filled with life once again. It's definatly a possibility, but often one cant do it alone and needs the help or encouragment to come out of it. The puple paint may represent that death, one that covers the person but doesnt consume them and one that they might be freed from through "washing". The man definatly has a drive to live, for although he is going slow he is still going somewhere. The twisted smile, broken voice, blood and mud have to do with his current state and peoples perception of him. Just some thoughts... moe of a thought direction then a full explanation. |

| Brad Paisley – Make A Mistake Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
When I listen to this song I feel deep questioning about what love really is. The girlfriend has questions - "what if we're not meant to be" and the guy says even if its a mistake, "make a mistake with me". The two sides I see: The questioning could be fear about getting hurt, or it could be legit questions which would come back to haunt her after the romance dies in the relationship. Till death do us part is a long time and there are only so many flings we can have before we are left hollow, hurt and wrecked emotionally. In the end it comes down to whether we trust the other person with who we are, and whether or not we will allow them to hurt us. (becuause in any good and healthy relationship, people will inevitably hurt each other... its just what you do with that instance) A simple song about taking a chance at love and seeing if it works out. |
