Army of Anyone – Father Figure Lyrics 19 years ago
Don't know what it's about, but it rocks brutally. No doubt the most Filter-ish song on the album, and Richard sounds incredible on it.

Army of Anyone – This Wasn't Supposed To Happen Lyrics 19 years ago
Classic theme of lost love, beautifully done. Guy expects to be with girl forever, guy messes up, girl leaves him, guy writes a song about it. I know I've written tons of these myself. As long as time keeps moving, this song will keep getting written. I like how this one focuses on the surprise factor. The lyrics are so pure and almost childlike at times, just like how one feels when this happens to them. Gorgeous song.

Army of Anyone – Non Stop Lyrics 19 years ago
Brilliant song. A direct, honest perspective on the Bush administration. This song may have historical value one day.

Musically, the most STP-ish one on the album in my opinion.

Army of Anyone – Leave It Lyrics 19 years ago
A triumphant song about recovery from alcoholism and/or addiction. I think this song is about the moment a person turns the corner and sets the stage for what will become their new life (AKA "rock bottom").

I haven't completely figured this one out yet, but I think it has something to do with religion.

Forgot to mention: ignorance and complacency.

Army of Anyone – Generation Lyrics 19 years ago
Very powerful song. The meaning is all in the chorus: "Generation of fear and whatever." I think it's about how today's society has been conditioned into living in a state of constant fear and making decisions based on that, kindof like the ideas Michael Moore put forth in Fahrenheit 9/11.

I like the challenge in this song: "Maybe we should question it."

Army of Anyone – Goodbye Lyrics 19 years ago
It's meant to be an open-ended song about loss in general. The first verse sounds more like a breakup and the second verse sounds more like a death or unintended separation. It's just an anthem for saying Goodbye. It's simple, to-the-point, and covers all bases.

Army of Anyone – A Better Place Lyrics 19 years ago
I don't know if the song has anything to do with this, but the pre-chorus makes me think of New Orleans. I think it's a song about starting over, and it's open enough to apply to many situations (like Goodbye). For Richard, it might've been about the recovery process.

Incredible tune. My favorite of theirs so far.
