The first thing that I thought when I read these lyrics is that the narrator is into conspiracy theories. I don't know why that hit me, but that's how I interpreted it. It fits rather well actually, just like the many other diffeent intepretations. He knew too much. His advice, to think twice, given to the people that don't understand what's really going on behind the scenes, They are having the time of their life because they don't know enough about how pitiful existence is within the context of these conspiracy theories, while he knew too much and finally lost it. "You really think that you're in control?" The narrator is crazy because he has seen beyond the conspiracies, while the person he is talking to is crazy for not realizing it. I know this probably isn't what they were getting at when they wrote the lyrics, but it's my immediate first impression when I read them. Just thought I would throw that out there. |
