| to me, ball and chain is about a woman who has casual encounters with men. she tries to be detatched from the encounters, writing these men off as a way to enjoy herself for a few hours. just a "random hook up" if you will. but she knows internally she feels lonely. and although the men may just be causal sexual encounters, they have tied her down to this lifestyle. and every girl who's had one of these experiences checks up on the guys whenever possible. she sees his new girl who's younger, better body, possibly smarter and again she feels the weight of her loneliness tying her down. | |
