Rollingrock, a god can also be percieved as a tyrant. A tyrant is someone/thing who holds power over a certain area or people. hrvesterofsorrw i think Trivium is better... Bodom's singing/screamin part goes to fast in some places then slows down dramatically... in same cases this is a good thing, but Trivium maintain a steady and AWESOME pace and style. but Bodom are definitely a good band 7and7is hmm heres some advice for you... how about you right a song that'll make you millions of dollars and make thousands more respect you? instead of criticizing them and having a narrow mind, you can accept it and see the talent and time it takes to put together a song as good as this cooper_drum seriously dude... ummm Bush doesnt exactly have 'genocidal wings' or something among those metaphorical lines. But the first time i listened to this i thought it was about Satan... with his genocidal wings and him being their king (which i now realise is wrong, considering Trivium isnt satanic) This isnt an anti-bush album, how does Rain, Ascendancy and The Decieved relate to bush? I dont think Bush ever buried a guy named Judas in his own blood... metaldrummerrhsy i CERTAINLY agree with you, ignorance drags down humanity and places restrictions upon peoples conscious so they cant do things that people who reject idiocy can. |

The blasphemy part could mean someone important or someone they saw highly of they would no longer respect or even hate, rather than a god. I reckon this song is about being sad/depressed or in a trance of extreme anger at something or someone all the while the world keeps moving, and passes them by, because they are stuck in an endless spiral of self destruction, then they just dont want to get back in time with the world. hence the lyrics : "Tie the noose around my neck, make this life end." Kick ass song |

In this particular situation why not just leave them alone? I mean it was a hell of a lot different in WW2 because Germany invaded Poland first and then that led from bad to worse and ended up in millions of innocent people dying. I dont blame the german soldiers, they were brainwashed from a time when they were innocent children themselves, by Adolf Hitler and his insane theories of dominance and superiority. But yes, back to this... this song is a politcal attack at the American government, but some people have taken it a little out of its general context. I personally think this is about war (obviously) because most the time presidents are only saving their own asses when sending the military to various places around the world. It seems that the 'enemies' are only after the goverment and for them to leave them the fuck alone. But they dont really care. American government (not the military or its people) take things WAY too seriously on some topics. for example: Enemy of America: Please just leave us alone and let our people free, we didnt do much wrong and we only want peace, but as a last resort we will lead to violence. America: LAST resort? screw that... lets put it as a first resort, you're going down. thats a bit of an exaguration (dont know how to spell that) but its generally what happens. I think the military is sometimes a a rather easy alternative to starving, because in some places, there really isnt any place to get work/money. So to support their families they join the military, its not so hard just go to an outpost and sign up, there your family is almost gauranteed a better lifestyle. But, the goverment lies to them, and then sends them to war, leaving their families worse off than before hand. All and all, this song is good for its sound, a little bit for its politcal statements, but it doesnt suggest that presidents are all out war-mongering freaks. There are usually, actually almost in every situation better alternatives to war, or wide-range fighting. And guess how old i am after reading this? 13... that just shows... Australia is the best country in the world! |
