King Missile – Ed Lyrics 18 years ago
Eh, no comments? Psh.
I reckon this is King Missile's best song. It's so unlike the song they were famous for... The lyrics reflect Hall's intelligence as a poet. Anyhaps, no one's likely to comment on this song for another five years, so I'll not waste my time. Good morrow.

In some ways, it sounds like he was with a transvestite.

Nine Inch Nails – You Know What You Are? Lyrics 19 years ago
And in a deeper sense it refers to how we're just bacteria... I can't be bothered explaining it, but we're all just overcomplicated virii...

Nine Inch Nails – The Big Come Down Lyrics 19 years ago
This song, for me, seems to be refering to a part of drug use that no one wants to admit that they can remember. True, you forget sometimes, but if you keep on pushing it... Due to the nature of life, it's basically impossible to explain, but the lines:

"there is no place I can go there is no way I can hide,
it feels like it keeps coming from the inside"

These lines are like a screaming reminder of that place. You can't run away from it. You can only live in fear.

Supertramp – Goodbye Stranger Lyrics 19 years ago
Here's something that occured to me while I was sleeping. I had the album playing while I was asleep, but this one really stood out to me. When I heard it, it seemed very clear to me that this song was about committing suicide. Obviously there are many different ways to interpret the lyrics, depending on what angle you take. It could just be a song about goodbyes in general.

Lines that seem to stand out to me in the context are:
"But I have to have things my own way
To keep me in my youth", possibly means something, albeit vague.

"Just the thought of those sweet ladies
Sends a shiver through my veins", may actually be something about the women leaving him heartbroken, and the reference to veins...

"Hope you find your
Paradise", possibly a reference to the afterlife.

"Now some they do, and some they don't
And some you just can't tell
And some they will, and some they won't
With some it's just as well", this line has always confused me, but when I heard it last night, it seemed to really clearly about slitting your wrists.

There are other examples in the lyrics, if you simply read through you might see that I could copy practically any lyric into this comment and it will have some relevance to committing suicide,

One could contend that this whole album is about failure of spirit, the crushing of dreams and wasted talent.
