My personal favorite part of this song is the actual intro with the piano. It always makes me think. I even wrote lyrics to go with it: And as the stars fall from the sky Do you realise? Do you even care? That I'm not there I'm not there It's not fair When you love someone And your heart gets trampled on All the time Even when you die When I die That's kind of my perspective of the point of view of the person who is dying. hope you can see how that fits in :) ps- I agree with everyone about how depressing this is |

I think this this song is absolutely beautiful. I think it touches me everything I hear it. The back and forth is just wow. Now for the actually meaning of the song.... These people obviously dated and broke up. It seems like the beginning of their relationship is a lot like the way things end up. They met at a club and the second verse describes that: First time I saw you, you turned away I couldnt see with the smoke getting in my eyes I said hello But you kept on walking Going deaf from the sounds of the D.J. First time I saw you, you turned away I couldn't hear you with a noise ringing in my ears For this part of the song: I don't, don't want to take you home, Please don't, don't make me sleep alone If I could, I only want to make you smile, Come on and stay with me a while I think it descibes how they don't want to take the person home, be it because they don't want to be used(when they first met eachother) or the fact that they broke up and don't want to get mixed up with eachother again. But at the same time they don't want to sleep alone, they don't want to be alone--they're lonely and want someone, someone who cares about them. I don't want anything but to make you smile...they must really love or care for the person since there is no selfish intention in saying that. I could go on forever about this song. |

I actually just downloaded a bunch of underoath because I might be going to their concert...anywho I was napping when I woke up to this exact song today. Normally, I'm not much for screamo bands, but this song is so powerful, not only lyrically but the screaming, there's so much emotion in it, I just love it. "take it back, all that's gone it's all still there like you left it december sayed the same nothing ever changed but you" Absolutely gorgeous, you can't hear the pain, you can feel the pain. I also believe it's about his fiancee. |

I guess I'll give a shout out from BC...which is were Sydney is..right on vancouver island next to Victoria. To me--his home is whereever his girlfriend might be. Okay, wow, wow, wow. This song was actually written for her little brother. Snce she won Canadian Idol, and moved across the country away from him, she wants him to know that's nothing's changed, that he will always be her little brother, and she will always be there for him. I went to see her in concert, and he was actually in the audience...(in Calgary)..it was the cutest thing, because she's like "Don't Cry!" in the middle of her song, and in the end on the last note she ended up laughing...pfft it was so funny. This is actually me and bestfriends song. We have always been there for eachtother(she would come running if i needed her), but this year I went away to university and away from her.:( This song reminds us both that: "Nothing's really changing, I'm just a few more miles away". It's just flawlessly beautiful:) |

Wow, so many haters....I think this song is awesome, here's why: It's a very enpowering song, when people fall in love and get into relationships, sometimes they forget who they really are. They make sacrifices for the other person and lose themselves(without even realising it) I think she realised this from a past relationship, and wants her new beau to know that she doesn't want that to happen again. Stay true to yourself. AND THE VIDEO IS AWESOME. There is nothing more powerful than a girl cuttig off her long long hair, and her facial expressions and emotions are amazing. |

We hadn't talked for 3 months and a half, and I was seeing someone new, but then I realised that I really wanted to talk to my ex boyfriend. Wow, I think that that whole vampire thing really does work. Like it's perfect, "You sit completely unaware about what I'm to do...my fangs are aching as I'm pondering about you and I together...I hope my pale complexion won't blow my cover...would you like to leave this human race tonight?" I never would have thought of that, but vampires do live for ever...and it would make sense if he really loved her that he would want to be with her forever. I think the beginning of the song fits. I don't know about the drowning part though...to me that says that he wants them both to die so they can live together in heaven forever. |

Wow I never realised "I love the pain, I hate the pain" in the backround. That is awesome. I also love hearing "I thought I wanted this...I thought I wanted this nightmare to stop" It sounds like he was trying to get rid of all his problems, escape and start over, but in the process he created more havic, and confusion. The guy doesn't know what he wants, or what he needs, he is confused by the world and everything in it. He's trying so hard to find himself, but he's scared that he might not like the person he really is(or his world) "I think that the truth is I'm scared, I think that I'm just scared to live" |

" I think it's pretty obviously when he says flirt that is abouting flirting with the idea of suicide, no indication shows that he is flirting just with the girl--that would be stupid and not go with anything in the song. I do love the part of the song that he says "Settle precious I know what your going through..." But I also love the beginning of the song " As we stand at edge of the world"...it's almost like he's talking about the world as the end of life. If you fall off the edge of the world, you would be dead...so I think it's very fitting. Bah brilliant~! |

This song is beautiful, and so easy to relate to. It's obviously about a relationship that was so amazing, but now the people are growing apart, and they feel trapped. It's so hard for them to break apart though, since they keep on remembering all wonderful memories they shared, but they know they are no longer happy together so they have to break apart. Bittersweet. They changed eachothers lives and I think there will always been a deep underlying love. |

Okay, I know what the end of the song means(well what it means to me because I can totally relate). These two loved eachother so much, but they ironically both ended up breaking eachothers hearts. Then the guy found someone new, and he was finally happy again. He felt like she was everything his ex wasn't--she was perfect next to his ex. In actual fact, this new girl, isn't everything to him, he is just covering up his feelings(his true deep love for his ex) with this new girl. The new girl is a phase, his ex just hurt him so much that he's pretending that he's so much happier without her. He's trying to move on, but it's all a show, he's still hurting. |
