It's rare that an ETID song makes sense. I love this song. Hence the username. |

This song... I mean, it's obvious to what it's about. I think it's just hilarious. In reality, how many guys would really just be like: "Oh, you're fucking some chick behind my back? Sweet, let me in on it." Not many, my loves. Still a funny song though. |

I only skimmed through the first page of comments and one really pissed me off. On 01-29-2005 someone under the username Monstergirl, said that the song is "about the stupidity of self-destructive people." Who the hell are you to criticize something that you've never experienced? I'm well aware that this song isn't JUST about cutting, but about self-mutilation in general, but for me it screamed cutter. I was a cutter for almost 3 years. You don't know what I was experiencing at that time, you don't know what was running through my head. How dare you say that self-injurers are stupid. I'm sure that many people think that the shit that you do is stupid. Now that that's out of my system... This is really a beautiful song. It's EXACTLY how I look at cutting. I quit for me. I didn't think I needed it anymore, but I still share the same views on self-injury as Amanda Palmer. You're not hurting anyone. It's NOT a suicide attempt. Favortie line: "Thank you for your pity, you are too kind". It's personal. People feel bad for you for the one thing that makes you happy...it doesn't make since to me. |

I've had a stalker before. This song definitely is perfect for how fear is associated with having a stalker. It's terrifying. I love this song. |

I think this song's about someone who killed someone (one way or another) and then foud some sort of religious "higher power". Whoever that person is now has, as mentioned before myself, a "holier-than-thou" attitude. When Maynard says "And not to pull your halo down/Around your neck and tug you off your cloud", I believe that he's saying that the guy's new found religion is what's going to kill him. The halo symbolizing Christianity and Maynard pulling it down and making it into a noose, end result, killing the guy. "Your halo slipping down to choke you now" Halo = noose =] |
