| Barenaked Ladies – Alcohol Lyrics

This song seems to be about moderation. Alcohol can be a destructive habit just like anything to excess; It can have negative effects on relationships, but can be a fun, good thing in controlled use. The most important part of the song to me is
"To walk the fine line between self-control and self-abuse" |

| Frank Sinatra – It Had To Be You Lyrics

It seems to be about loving someone for the whole of who they are. Nice people are nice, but the girls and guys that really grab your attention are those that are dynamic and actually behave humanly. Sometimes when you love someone, even a little cruel behavior doesn't matter simply because you're in love with them. |

| Radiohead – Faust Arp Lyrics

|
This is one of the more Beatles-esque Radiohead songs, and that may be what attracts me to it.
Can't comment much on the meaning, other than "on again, off again" echoes in my mind with a certain inexplicable power. Regardless, one of my favorites from In Rainbows. |

It's so repetitive, but I can't help but listen repeatedly.
No one wants to be at the bottom of the wrung, and a lot of people don't want to be in the UK, lol. jk. |

Heard this on the Saturn Vue commercial and I really loved it, such an odd, but entrancing sound to it. I dig it. |

| Kermit the Frog – It's Not Easy Being Green Lyrics

Kermit the Frog has a way of sharing with us that, instead of changing who you are and finding the negative around us, we see the positive and become content, if not happy, with what we are and have. |

| Billy Joel – Big Shot Lyrics

Straight from the horse's mouth, this is not about Bianca Jagger. Billy Joel said "I read that the song Big Shot is said to be about a date I had with Bianca Jagger. I never had a date with Bianca Jagger." This is as of November 10, 2006.
Anyways, I saw Billy in concert a few days ago and it was in the top 2 I've ever seen. He played this song and gave it even more oomph. It was great. |

I think it's about being used. Essentially, he was tricked by a girl, kind of led on, but she was just using him or didn't really care about him. |

Admittedly, Fallout II was the first place I heard this song, but that doesn't make it any less special. That game really made me get into Satchmo, making that game just a little more special to me. |

| Paul McCartney – Dear Friend Lyrics
|
It seems a lot more of a reconciliatory song to me. Since it was written when tensions between him and John were past the peak and the "borderlines" of friendship seemed to have only the options to fade or come back to sight.
He seems to me like the music apologizes for him while the lyrics say, "be happy for me, and we can be happy together. Unless you're so stubborn that your envy/hatred won't fade."
The words Dear Friend seem to cry out for good times past. |

| Paul McCartney – Band on the Run Lyrics

|
Seems a lot like the story of the Beatles in 67 through 79. They were falling apart, but forced together in so many ways. Each escaping into their own paths. Granted, could be early Beatlemania when they were constantly flocked and had to hide in shoddy hotels and get in cars quickly. Either way, one of my favorite solos of any of the boys. |

I pray and wish upon wishing that sometime somewhere they will discover a video of a recording of The End, because I dream of seeing the sheer expression that goes into each solo. |

| The Beatles – I Me Mine Lyrics
|
|
I think it's commentary on the breaking up of the band more than anything. Sure, it applies to Paul, but it really applies to each of them. They were all prepared or desiring to move in different directions; they all really kind of wanted their own thing. A fitting, if depressing ending song. It's about selfishness and how it can build things (Desire for wealth and fame makes many bands) but destroys them just as well (Major fame makes them think each is the reason they rock, so they want their own gigs). |

To me it's simply a guy who is totally infatuated by this one girl. She can't do wrong in his eyes and everything about her is all-knowing and all-perfect. |

macman2511, I have cancer as well and am having my bone marrow transplant in January. I'm very nervous about it and often connect Wonderall with the anticipation of it, but think of this in a future tense sort of way. |

| America – Lonely People Lyrics

Of course it's for lonely single people, but it seems a lot for timid people as well. "You never known until you try" implies to me that you should just suck it up and talk to that girl of your dreams. It might seems like you have no shot, but don't give up. |
