| Megadeth – In My Darkest Hour Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
the songs about a good thing that passed away. such as trust that took over a decade to build, and how life's work that was built on the past...it's proven to be futile. Pain and loneliness stretch on ... taking too much time... I could write a book based on this song. Simply, to me, it means exactly how I feel since the one I love was never there for me... The song is about how one feels when they have true love, but the one they love has a new god called crack cocaine. Hows that for an interpretation? |

| Godsmack – Forgive Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| could be about a drug addiction. not saying godsmack wrote it for that, but if you have ever known an addict (or been one yourself) this song sure fits the bill. | |
| System of a Down – Holy Mountains Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Can you feel their haunting presence? Yes, I too believe "they" are the spirits of those Armenians who have died. Whether you want to believe the genocide happened or not. Liar, Killer, Demon This would be what the spirits would like to scream at their opressors, aka exterminators. Can you hear the holy mountains? The holy mountains where the spirits reside...if you listen you will hear their screams (do they sound like serj?) Someone's blank stare deemed it warfare Someone's mouth said paint them all red These 2 were already translated nicely in a previous post. Back to the river Aras Freedom, Freedom, Free, Free The river Aras apparently is considered the "mother river" by the Armenians, and has contributed much to Armenian culture and history (Any Armenians...correct me if I am wrong) The spirits need to return there for...freedom. They need to regain their culture, history, life blood. They have returned Resting on the mountainside That's just what it says. Resting on the mountainside overlooking the River Aras. We're free. But rather pissed. We have learned that you have no Honor, Murderer, Sodomizer |

| System of a Down – This Cocaine Makes Me Feel Like I'm on This Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |

the song could be about how we are destroying ourselves but don't think we are, or maybe we do (we don't really have a clue). Fish has mercury in it. People, especially children who eat large quanities of sea food are at greater risk for developmental disorders. So basically, our environment is filled with enough toxins as it is... yet we put even more toxins in our body by our own choice. |

| System of a Down – Highway Song Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
To me the song makes me think of driving down the highway...in a daze, knowing of need, love, and fear, but our lives are being directed by things such as advertizing. Our days are never comming back so we had better wake up and direct our own lives. serge fabrizio, I think many believe this song has something to do with "life" because the word is mentioned a few times in it. |

| System of a Down – Ego Brain Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Life is but a dream...are we really aware of what is really happening? Or is it more like we are just drifting on a stream watching our life on the shore pass us by? Or maybe "life" is what is drifting on the stream past the rest of the world on the shore. It seems all that is left of the human conscious is the ego. Is he talking about Freuds "ego"? If so, here's my interpretation: Our unconscious is mostly dominated by the "Id" (according to Freud). The Id opperates on the pleasure principle...where our needs and desires arise from. Consciously, we have the ego and the superego. The superego is part conscious and part unconscious = preconscious. The superego is the moral system of the personality, consisting of the conscience. So, consciously it seems, all of what remains, ego brain... That would mean all we have left is our Id of the unconscious and the ego. We are missing the moral / conscience element (the superego). Man made shame... we have done this to ourselves. Mostly through desensitization. We have allowed for the destruction of our morals and conscience. That is our shame...no one else to blame... I don't know what the "love" is about. Love has too many meanings. It could be a good kind of love, or it could be the "love" that drives the Id. Self love. Rain...is that symbolic or does it just mean rain? I don't know. My pain is real, my world dissolves, pretend none of us see the fall...the fall of humaninty I think. For without morals and conscience we become less than human. We fall, turn to sand... If it's a good love he's talking about, who or whatever is taking him by the hand is nice, and the meaning is pretty much what the lyrics say. However, if it's self love of the unconcious, it's that part within ourselves (the Id) that declares love prevails over all...self love...as long as we only love our deepest desires (which aren't always good), then we will prevail over all the pain, dissolution and our own self destruction. |

| System of a Down – Science (feat. Arto Tunçboyacıyan) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| the meaning is clear in the lyrics. Science has failed in the regard to which he speaks. this is something that has been bothering me as I am slowly working my way into the scientific community. So when I heard this song (just recently got turned on to System of a down) it really motivated me! Ahh yes, I have plans how science can start recognizing the most potent element of human existence. if you are really interested in how, just ask me | |
