@[ieatrice:1206] This is, IMO, the most correct representation. Contrary to your correction, I think your original definition is the "real" one. That is, the palace in her dreams is just that...and not a symbolic representation of a sinister media. It doesn't seem likely because this and Royals is much more about her, her friends, and their simple lives than about criticizing the outside world. In other words, I think it's more about "we're just normal people" than "media portrayal is stupid." |

From Wikipedia: Kastellorizo also lends its name to David Gilmour's instrumental track "Castellorizon" from his album On an Island (2006). He stayed on the island in the early 1990s with his wife, Polly Samson, and many close friends. The music reflects the memories of the time spent there, and is a tribute to the friends who have since died.[citation needed] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kastellorizo |

David Gilmour – A Pocketful Of Stones Lyrics | 9 years ago |
It proposes to you a hypothetical person - one who is not moved by the world, but does not move it either. He simply observes the world in wonder, and then fades away. It doesn't matter whether you see this person in a good or bad light, because he is a spectator of the world, while everyone else is playing the game of life. How you judge him reflects on yourself and your own biases. And I think most of the song is summed up in this verse: "Rivers run dry but there's no line on his brow Says he doesn't care who's saved It's just the dice you roll, the here and now And he's not guilty or afraid" "No line on brow" = physical stress lines that show on your forehead, with age/stress "..doesn't care who's saved...it's the dice you roll..." = he doesn't feel the need to interrupt the world in order to "save" someone. He believes that fate determines who comes and goes. "he's not guilty or afraid" = not having an effect on the world, positive or negative, he has no reason to feel guilt. He lives in his own mind/dreams, free of stress, with no understanding of fear. |

Growing up in the 90's FTW! Amazing song from an amazing band. They were one of the best. The song is simply about being with one of the bossier types of girls (i.e. the freaky eyes and horns) who is wonderful/lovely nonetheless. |

Big Wreck – That Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song became "That Song" for me. Reminds me of my ex....and how whenever i hung out with my friends, i fooled them just to pass by her place just to see if she was there. "And when you hold him" ...yeah...she cheated too. "You love my whisper" "And now it's over" Damn... |

The Felix House remix of this song was used in a club scene in Miami Vice. Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for the lyrics. |
Pink Floyd – The Final Cut Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Good description, smbennallick. T_D_Phoenix, the "show you my dark side" line has nothing to do with "Dark Side Of the Moon". The latter was based on the deceit involved in politics. The Dark Side of the Moon is that part which you can't see - what politicians do behind the scenes. The Final Cut is, as most have put it, a much more personal and intimate look at the extreme loneliness and desperation that some people face in life. |
