Marianas Trench – Skin and Bones Lyrics 19 years ago
Yup, definitely about Josh and his bulimia.
I think I get this entire song.

I lock the door
Turn on the water
Bury that sound
So no one hears anything anymore

'Kay. This is when he's purging his body of the food. You have to turn on the water so you're drowning out the sounds of the gagging. It can get loud sometimes. Especially if you don't take your breath in at the right time, because you start choking on the vomit.'

Mirrors lie to me, tell me you can see
Maybe you won't be able to recognize me now

'People with eating disorders usually hear things while they're eating. Some give their sicknesses identities. They name them, make them actual people. It's a bit more comforting. Most make them friends, actually. Fist, I think he's begging for help. When he says tell me that you can see. The mirrors lie to me part is self explanitory. You can't see properly when you're sick. You look at people who are 20 pounds heavier and wonder why you can't look like them. The next line, I think he's talking to his sickness. Because she's always telling him he's fat. He's wondering if she even recognizes him now, because he's changed so much. Inside and out.'

I know you can feel, all the things you steal
And you're taking, you're takin it

'Once again, he's talking to his disease. She steals everything. He has no life outside this sickness, he's been robbed of everything. Next line, he's talking about how cruel she is. That she's taking it in, feeding off him. She knows he can't win.'

Feeling so easy
Make me skin and bones

'These two lines are pretty sad. He's giving himself to her, so she'll give him what he wants.'

I'm always on my knees for you
You break like it's even
When you're faking it
Thin, Where have you been?

'Always on my knees for you can be taken two ways. Both make sense. On his knees for her, as in he'll give anything and everything. Or, you can take it literally. As in, on his knees at the toilet. Next few lines are just talking about how she makes him act like everything's okay, even when it clearly isn't.'

Well sometimes it burns
Baby I'll wash it out

'The burning can be both emotional and physical. Burning of the throat after you've jammed your fingers down there so many times, or the burning emotionally. When he says washing out I think he's saying it's no big deal, that he can just fix it.'

It all look so big
Nevermind, I don't feel anything

'First line he means sometimes he feel overwhelmed by the sickness. And honestly, who wouldn't . But in the next line, he's back in denial. He doesn't feel anything. Because if he admits how much it hurts, he'll realize it isn't worth it.'

It only hurt a bit
I still feel like shit

'First line, denial once again. He's trying to convince himself that it doesn't hurt that bad. The next line means a lot. I think it's after he's lost the weight, he still doesn't feel good. He still feels like shit. He's confused, because he was sure he'd feel better once he lost whatever amount he wanted to.'

And I think you won't be able to recognize me now

"Once again, he's changed so much he wonders if she'll even know who he is now.'

It's easier to quit
Harder to admit and
You're pushin me, you're fucking pushin me!

'It'd be easier to let this go, because in reality it isn't worth what he's giving up for it. But the next line says it all. He as to admit he has a problem before quitting is even an option. The last line is him talking to her again. He's on the edge of breaking.'

Feeling so easy
Make me skin and bones
I'm always on my knees for you
You break like it's even
When you're faking it
Thin, Where have you been?

'Already explained.'

Cause you always win
You always win

"Here, he speaks the truth. She'll always win. She'll always be in his life, even if he's considered better by a doctor, or whoever. She'll never go away.'

Laughin' like it works
Bleeding like it dont hurt

'Laughing as if it'll make him feel better. Next line is referring to how he's going along with this sickness without complaining, as if it doesn't hurt.'

Knock you off your feet
Even if you need me
Tear you apart, hey now i need you

"The first two lines are basically the same as the last line. It's like, sometimes he'll defy her. He'll hate her. Tear her apart in his mind. But in the end he comes crawling back, because he can't do it alone.'

Feeling too easy make me skin and bones
Im always on my knees for you
Break like its even
When your fakin

'Already explained'

If you haven't already guessed, when I'm talking about her I'm talking about the disease. Yeah, I gave her an identity too. Honestly, bulimia is really hard to understand, all eating disorders are. Eating disorders sort of isolate the victim. That's why I love songs like there. It feels really good to know I'm not the only one feeling like this. And it's healthy because I can see people do get through this.

To me, this sounds like two friends having sex. They aren't in a relationship though, it's just sex. It sounds like they respect eachother though.

Billy Joel – Only The Good Die Young Lyrics 19 years ago
'Only the good die young." My teacher explained that to me a few years back. When her father died, many people told her it meant he was a great man. Because God wanted him sooner. It's confusing, because then what does it mean if you die at an old age? Does God not love you as much, then? Mother Teresea died at an old age, and she was definitly an amazing woman. Yeah, this kind of had nothing to do with the song, just the title. I know for some parts of this song, he's asking her to give it up, but I don't think that's the main focus. He's telling her to live a little. To not be so uptight. Make sense at all, or am I crazy?

The Used – Blue And Yellow Lyrics 19 years ago
This is a summer song. I don't know why, but when I hear this I just get this feeling. My friends and I, just sitting in the sand late at night, singing this. It's a beautiful song. To me, it's more about friendship love, not that other kind. I have this stuck in my head everyday in math class, I don't know why.

Good Charlotte – The River Lyrics 19 years ago
boner_pants47, (o.0, interesting user name) I don't know much about Good Charlotte, but I did last year. And I don't think Chris is dead. He's actually in a band called Summer Obsession. He's perfectly healthy right now.
