you know that the melody is almost identical to a pink floyd song, vera, which also has the similar lyric "does anybody else feel the way i do", sung to a very similar melody. oasis have admitted that they were really influenced by pink floyd when they were young. and the title is stolen off a george harrison record, wonderwall music. so i dont mean to piss on your parade, its a great song, but its not very original thats all. |

yeah its about missing a girl who screwed him over bad first verse i dont really get, i think hes saying "i wish you were as upset about this as i am", with the "will you cower in fear, in your favourite sweater, with an old love letter? i wish you would" the really nice verse with the lines saying "do you wish i was there, do you wish it was me?" is about the same thing. he wants her to be as fucked up about it as he is. or just to come back to him and mess him around as long as shes there. classic bit of self-pity. |

perfect frusciante, short, sweet, interesting eerie sound and cryptic, concise poetry. perhaps "i connect you with your shadow" means bringing somebody back down to earth, stopping them from floating away and leaving their shadow on the floor. or it could mean something to do with the imagery of a shadow having a meaning to him, a memory of something. i think some of the imagery here has something to do with keeping something, a lie or a feeling or anything, locked inside. but its all just speculation because this is one of those songs that maybe even the author didnt quite understand what he was releasing from himself. |
