| Third Eye Blind – About to Break Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| there are a few good one-liners in this, but all in all, this is so 'new age' 3EB. like, SJ is trying to be really deep/political, but i think it fucking sucks. | |

I went to costa rica to live, and this song is really good. it speaks of the promise it has...she's never been there but she knows she'll love it. any place is always better then where we are now... |

Yeah Thom is really deep. This song has the surface meaning, but I think it's also a really romantic song, like he talks about getting old, and I don't think he's fighting it. He's saying, play this song when I'm old as a reminder of days I was young/free/cool... remind me of how kissing you made me real... that's what he's saying I think. I feel like the older we get, the less important things like being 'free' and having those deep emotions for someone gets. We look for a lifelong partner, we want to feel SECURE--doesn't always coincide with being free... he wants to not let go of these youthful almost 'dreamer' like qualities that make him alive. he doesn't wanna grow boring... |

| Kings of Convenience – I Don't Know What I Can Save You From Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I think this song is about someone who's lost and damanged and no one can help her becasue no one knows what she needs to be saved from. He's saying he never knew her, there's no one anyone could ever know her becasue she's so very lost, and he doesn't mind sitting with her, making her tea, talking to her...but he knows that whatever he does for her, it's not gonna do anything becasue she's so lost... |

| Third Eye Blind – Self Righteous Lyrics | 17 years ago |

here's what i think ti means: everyone is so far up their own ass that they don't give a fuck about other people. i think he's really referring to the people that are extremists in religion and quick to judge and call people 'sinners.' blame music/tv/the media for making girls 'sluts' and whatnot...he's saying where have teh SINNERS gone, the ones that don't give a fuck about what the nay-sayers are gonna say to them, the ones who know that 'sinning' is the real way of life, not living a self fufilling 'righteous' life. i think it has some to do with religion and like, it's power over people, but overall i think hes just telling people to get the fuck off their high horse and stop judging people that aren't living life according to their guidelines. we all do what we do to get by, and that's the best anyone can offer. |

Sometimes I thnk we disect things too much, when the meaning is right in front of our face. He misses this girl who was the Queen of his Underworld. He knows that without her, there is no light, there is no spring, there is no song. Everything he loves, even music, is like plauged by her absence. He loves her so deeply, and you can even hear it in his voice. He wrote this about his great love, one that he knows he'll never get back. Memories are all he wants but he can feel them fading with time. He talks about "the only place I never lied" becasue it was with this girl, naked by her side, where everything was fine, and now that it's gone...he is left with this overwhelming sense of emptiness. This song epitomizes beauty and sadness. I can feeel his lyrics on my skin in this song. |
