KT Tunstall – False Alarm Lyrics 18 years ago
isabella could be right on. I also see it as the end of any kind of relationship, and she constantly wants to believe things will get better again, but alas, it's a "false alarm".
And 'putting it to bed' and 'drugging it in it's sleep' is just an allusion to wanting to forget about it.

KT Tunstall – Hold On Lyrics 18 years ago
It's catchy, but basic. I guess it means you need to hold on to something good while it lasts.

Paul McCartney – Dance Tonight Lyrics 18 years ago
To me, this seems to be a song about anarchy. Usually everyone 'dancing' is an allusion to riots. I think the whistling the secret call to attack. And 'you can do anything you wanna do' is also an allusion to anarchy. Paul is a tricky fellow...

Keane – Hamburg Song Lyrics 18 years ago
organix is mostly right. It's about kind of being sick and tired of being in the spotlight, e.g. 'I don't wanna be adored', and instead wanted to be treated like a regular person.
Sorry to bursts everybody's bubble, but it's not about a girl at all. Few Keane songs are...

Keane – Somewhere Only We Know Lyrics 19 years ago
I think this is being VERY overread!! Through a seris of interviews, and seeing them in concert, it's not about love, or a girl, or a couple! It's mostly about having a place or person in your mind that you can think of, and it takes you away, it's you escape, or your 'happy place' in simple terms. When I saw them in concert, they played this right after She Has No Time, and Tom said 'That was a very sad song about having your heart broken, so now we're going to play a song about having good friends and knowing that you'll always be able to rely on them' which was so fitting because I was there with my best friend!

Keane – Everybody's Changing Lyrics 19 years ago
I agree with the idea of bein yourself, even though everyone around you is changing-'Everybody's changing and I don't feel the same' And I think the line 'I try to stay awake and remember my name' is basically like 'I try to stay myself through all these changes' I first started hearing this song when some of my good friends were totally changing, and I didn't feel the same! So it was very personal for me

Keane – Broken Toy Lyrics 19 years ago
I have actually heard quite a bit that the song is about the relationship between Tim and Richard-it was written at the time when the Hopes & Fears had just ended, and they were sick of each other-it seems to be about a deconstruction of a friendship or other kind of relationship

Keane – Atlantic Lyrics 19 years ago
To me, and from some of the stuff I have heard, including when they played it in concert, it's about the fear and paranoia of being alone, and quite possibly dying alone. Especially with the line 'An empty house is not a home'. I think the ligher change at the end of the song is the person in question's peaceful death-and that's kinda morbid haha, but it just feels so peaceful, like when he says 'Cause now the room is spinning, the day's beginning....' and it 'floats away' almost. In any case, it's a beautiful, haunting song, I get chills everytime I hear it!
