Everytime I hear this song, I seem to find a new layer to it. It's probably been said countless times [I can't be bothered reading] but... I think its about a girl who is so... everything... and he knows it- but she's been lying, and obviously stuffed up her chance with him. And he's saying that when she realises what she's been doing she's going to be "strong, rich, in love" and she'll carry on [perhaps saying that she could easily find someone else] But at the same time, she won't be his. And by the sounds of things, he was the most important thing. Now it's gone. Chilling. I love it. |

It's amazing how their songs can just get to you... It just ends up feeling as though it was written about you or your current situation. And the best thing about it, is that you may not be the correct meaning But all the same you feel like you can relate to it. [Although, I kinda have to reverse the genders] To me: it's about being screwed around. My definition of screwed around: The guy who you are slowly falling in love with is telling you that he has feelings for you. Unfortunately he lives on the other side of the city. He says a relationship MIGHT be possible next year, when you are 16. He was the one that left. Not you. You're scared he's going to meet some amazing girl who will change his life. Then forget about you. His whole world is changing. Yours isn't. You're stuck where you always have been and nothing is any different. And you feel lost, because you feel so strongly about him. But he's keeping you on a thread and all you want is for him to "Turn himself around and come on home" The relevance to the song is That it actually took him moving away for me to realise my feelings for him. [Some things you can't see, Until it gets too late] And That I'm still a part of his life [She keeps a picture of me etc.] I know the songs not really about that.. But something very similar. "You all assume I'm safe here in my room etc." I think thats self harm "Breaking the habit" Could either be referring to ending it all- killing himself... as the video clip would imply.
