I think this is definitly about Izzy too, because with that first line, "he lost his mind today, he left it out back on the highway, on 65", he's talking about Interstate 65, which goes through Izzy and Axl's hometown, Lafayette, Indiana. So ya I agree this is probably about not worrying about all the bullshit in life and just have a good time. |

im not saying anyones wrong or right but i think this is abotu drugs and how they make you felt and what happens when you're on them. "The Garden" i think refers to your state of mind while on drugs. "you know youre all alone, your friends they arent at home, everybodys gone down to the garden" - the typical peer pressure thing, everyones high, everyones in the garden. "As you look into the trees you can look but you cant see, the flowers seem to tease you at the garden." - Drugs, by the look of them, seem so harmless at first. You might not know what youre in for, kind of like that "well just doing it once wont do anything" As BTHW said, positive, laid back part of the song, now we get into the negative like part. "Turned into my worst phobia, a crazy man's utopia, if youre lost know one can show ya but it sure was glad to know ya." - Describing the mid-long term effects on drugs, if youre lost, (addicted) sure you can go to rehab, but you're mind won't want to go that way, because it's become your life, like it or not. "Only poor boys, take a chance in the gardens song and dance, feel the flowers as they wrap around, but only smart boys do without." -Your typical poor person has nothing to lose. Some take the chance of getting into drugs. The flowers wrapping around means feel your life be absorbed and taken over by it and only smart boys do without-they know better. lol "Wasnt really scared, losy my virginity there, to a gypsy with blond hair, but now noone seems to care." -He was high and got all party-like and knocked some girl up. Now noone seems to care, again drugs being something that only matters at the time. "Like a mouse inside a maze, wandering round for daze" -Completely lost and addicted with nothing to do but keep doing drugs, constantly trying to get out of it but never being able to. --notice what should be "days" is "daze", and being high he would be in a daze. Anyway thats my opinion on it, although it could have multiple meanings, sick soong by one of my fav. bands. |

| WOW what the hell has happened to this band?? I mean the whole idea of the Black Parade is awesome, and the guitar is sick, but what has happened?? Gerard has gone to a modern day Freddie Mercury, watch him on stage, look at his hair. I also think he's gay now, which is too bad because i have no respect for asshoels liek that. What I recommend, for all you new MCR listeners, if you havent already go buy THREE CHEERS FOR SWEET REVENGE RIGHT NOW, and see how much theyve changed and how much of a better. creepier, less-emo more horror-like with a great story behind it, and much more aggressive and less like all the mainstream stuff that is somewhat ruining the music industry. | |

yeah i agree with you all. it's definitly about a war but somewhere in the middle east or asia (so many soldiers on the other side). Yes, A7X does have religious stuff in their music but this is NOT religious you dumb asses. Notice he says "shot a mother in front of her son". Did they have guns back then? Didnt think so. I also think this is about war because, well put 2 and 2 together, a little line to line: "Living another day in disguise" - Hiding from who he really is; he's just another soldier to the goverment. "You know we won but still we lose, until i make it home to you" - Here hes saying how yes, they may have won the war, destroying thousands of innocent people in the process, and losing many of our own soldiers, really for somone elses benefit. So who really won? That probably isnt right on topic of what actually happened, with him losing his friend and all, but it could have gone thru his head while writing and could have a message behind it. |
