| to me this song means that to those in power we are all just another brick in the wall... but we need to realise that we are like our ancestors and need to fight for what we believe in and rise together against the oppressive peoples that control us. | |

this song is easy to understand (i did not read any previous comments and these are my own thoughts) to me the song simply is a way to show us that the government we live under is power hungry and thrives off being in control... they are like the two kids in that they have the ability to choose their path whether good or bad. If they choose good they choose peace like one kid did in the music video, if they choose bad they choose corporate america and the power flaws in its system like the other child. |

Joel 88 your an absolute genious i dont know of many people who would have picked up on that detail about the fire... yet the only thing i noticedd about that theory is why is he ho0lding groceries as if he was pushed off the roof and not as if he jumped but you are brilliant and thats a very good interpretation of the video |

dont know wat its about other than the fact that 2 minutes to midnight refers to the cuban missile crisis, and when we were at 2 minutes to midnight on the dooms day clock ive never heard the actual song so i cant explain the details of each line, but the main idea is about the "war" we waged at that time |

meaning number two is another war story (many of those in Iron Maidens songs) like Lateralus had said, the date seems a bit too much of a coincidence, also... a picture of Britain being at war (not WWI) is shown on this site http://www.meumundo.americaonline.com.br/__121b_ADb+T5RpGPZQrTIdIIDO20VGK4P01EREWKmfrbD8ZJt0HMXMMqTzDw== and from this we can tell how soldiers have to deal with their nightmares at night from having to kill people, and having to deal with their sins of being a murderer and having it all bottled up inside... and when they all get home, they just wanna "reincarnate" and begin again and forget their past because it haunts them daily |

To me... this song is way way to overlooked. Everyone looks for a super spiritual or symbolic reason for the lyrics, and to me... the lyrics speak to me in a way that makes me feel like all the things we do and pain we cause other people bottles up as guilt and the only way to "break free" is to let it out and "reincarnate" we arent really coming back to life, and there was no benjamin breeg... these are all metaphors for showing that we are the breegs and need to review our lives and start from the beginning with how we treat people Everyone just needs someone to forgive them, so they can "reach heaven from hell" and get into the good life again and stop living in the shadows of their own mistakes. plain and simple, this song is about forgiveness, and repentance of your wrongdoings and wanting to begin again and start a new life for yourself |

| Iron Maiden – Blood Brothers Lyrics | 19 years ago |

ok well... personally i think anyone who said its about his father is wrong, and anyone who said its about his fans are slightly right... this song is about a "brotherhood" in this song. Theres are many references to wars in this song and how we as humans never cease to change we never learn from our pasts and continue to war with our brothers (blood brothers) but the war Iron maiden is singing about is not a physical war with another country but instead it is a war between our own peoples. "What do you see, do you think we have learned Not if youre taking a look at the war-torn affray Out in the streets where the babies are burned" In this part of the song it mentions how we humans have not changed and continue to let our own children and neighbors suffer in our own self-caused civil battles. Blood brothers in this sense is showing that EVERYONE is a blood brother and yet we still continue to battle each other for land, money, and self gain, and that the singer feels ashamed at times of how stupid people can be and messed up in this fight filled world. And finally, if we as blood brothers wanna make things right we need to realise what we have been doing, what people in the past have done, and take the opportunity to pray to the past for guidance to the future All summed up... Everyone is a blood brothe and why are we fighting in the world? we have done thi forever, yet we never seem to learn. and if you still dont understand (which i do, and im only 16) IRON MAIDEN IS SINGING ABOUT WORLD PEACE and how it will never come |
