Silversun Pickups – Substitution Lyrics 16 years ago
I feel like this song is about falling from grace and the twisted enjoyment people get from watching it. It could be about a celebrity or an average person and it can describe the critics or the criticized.

It's the great downfall
The big overthrow
If we shoot them down
It'll make you soar

definitely not an old proverb, Chuck Palahniuck came up with it (Fight Club) but this song it amazing and I love how the more research you conduct, the more it makes sense. Like "we live in a shadow of the real" is a reference to Plato's Cave Analogy. I'm still learning new things about it.

The last line breaks my heart. His voice makes it so clear that he is in pain.

City and Colour – ...Off By Heart Lyrics 17 years ago
I feel like this song is about a guy who loves a girl but she doesn't love him back or it just didn't work out. "But they don't align for us." Means it just wasn't meant to work out. Despite this, he still treasures the fragile moments they share and even though she has nothing to say back to him, she's still his everything.

Alexisonfire – Pulmonary Archery Lyrics 19 years ago
Finally! After like a page and a half of sucking off AOF we finally have some interpretations. I do like the band. I think that this song is such a jumble of ideas that make it really interesting to hear what everyone thinks. I think the whole thing about being late for history class kind of works because lots of songs on the album are about school. The rainbow thing could maybe be about wanting to escape the class by doing drugs? I don't know whatever. Just an idea. Um... there's also two things that I wanted to say that might help people get a better understanding of what the song is about. First off, Alexisonfire has mentioned in several of their songs (Crisis, namely) that 1977 is the year that punk "died". So there's probably a connection with that. Second, this is probably a stretch but there is an artery connecting to the heart called the Pumonary Artery that is the only artery in the body that carries unoxygenzied blood away from the heart (to the lungs). The spellings of the title of the song and this artery are very similar. Cooincidence? Maybe. or Maybe not.
