I'm totally getting the 3rd and 4th to last lines tattooed on me. This is one of my all-time favorite songs ever.... I always get goosebumps when I hear the "Oh my God" parts, and for the first time just now I got goosebumps just reading the lyrics. Oh, and for anyone interested in reading more about Gacy, the book "The Last Victim" is pretty damn good. |

I tend to this that this song has something to do with the neglect of friendship that comes when one is in a serious relationship with someone. In this case, it seems as though the point of view is from someone who gave all their love to someone over the summer months, ignoring their friends, and after their love scorned them ("You threw it all away"), they return with hardened heart back to their friends, apologetic for the neglect and realizing that Christmas is a time to celebrate with all of them. That said, it's a beautiful song. |
