I'd like to point out a song reference.... the line: "And you know it might not be that bad You were the best I'd ever had" is a reference to Gary Allan's song "Best I Ever Had" which the refrain is: "But its not so bad..your only the best i ever had, you dont want me back, your just the best i ever had." Gary Allan's song talks about a lost love which would make sense to refrence that line in this song :) |

| The correct lyrics are "Cuz I feel like I've never known love" instead of "I'm feeling like I'll blame it on love ". I looked the correct ones up on her artist page on myspace. I knew that line just didn't make sense. | |

I'd also like to point out that clearly Christina is also attacking Eminem in this song when she says: "Makin' up a few false rumors or two That for sure is not a man to me Slanderin' names for popularity It's sad you only get your fame through controversy But now it's time for me to come and give you more to say" Eminem's fame has come about because of the controversy he causes when he slaunders other famous people's names. Christina had to get back at him for what he said about her in one of his songs. And everything else in the song just came about for all the other men out there that give woman a double standard |

I think it's obviously this song is about rape or about a regretful sexual experience. "One night to you Lasted six weeks for me Just a bitter little pill now Just to try to go to sleep" I don't think that means she got pregnant because the pill is to help her sleep. The six weeks to her is how painful the experience was and how long it kept tormenting her. That's why she takes a pill to help go to sleep at night. She mentions not sleeping in a couple lines down too. "No more waking up to innocence Say hello to hesitance To everyone I meet Thanks to you years ago I guess I'll never know What love means to me" Obviously she's lost her innocence which is her virginity. Now she'll be hesitent in all her future relationships with guys because of this one perpertrator. "Left my childhood behind In a roll away bed Everything was so damn simple Now I'm losing my head Trying to cover up the damage And pad out all the bruises Do you know I had it So it didn't hurt to lose it Didn't hurt to lose it" She got raped or had that bad sexual experience on a cheap bed. "...So damn simple" means that her life was simple up to this point. And she didn't really understand what virginity meant to her at the time because she was so young and that's why it didn't hurt to lose it. "Now I'm numb as hell and I can't feel a thing But don't worry about regret or guilt cause I never knew your name I just want to thank you Thank you From the bottem of my heart For all the sleepless nights And for tearing me apart" Another to referance to sleepless nights and being emotionally torn apart. She never knew the guy's name so that's another referance to the fact that this song could be about rape. |
