Interesting song, very high quality considering it is a B side. It is the Decemberists though and half of my favourite songs of theres are B sides. Kind of like a Bagman's Gambit lite which is all good in my books. I just hope that the new album isn't all new songs, there need to be a few historic pieces. |

Thanks for the corrections. Mine are just by ear so i'm sure there are more mistakes in the other songs too. I think you are pretty much spot on with the meaning, great song. I'm glad there are others who like this album as much as me. |

It might just be me but i thought the last section was about columbine. I could be wrong but doesn't it fit? Is calamine the confirmed lyric, if so i am probably wrong but that is what came to mind. |

Great song. Does anyone else think that the one wing isnt even enough is a political metaphor. in a similair vein to "The One on the Right Is on the Left - Johnny cash" It makes sense, im not sure what exactly the right bias is keeping us in. Maybe Iraq, any ideas. |

The lyrics are definately hard to pick up. This is what i could get. There's ten year old, smiling summer eyes. They win, they win. They survived and showed us how we could dance like angels. There was a talk that came upon the grass and sun. You never said she’s willing to punish. Being calm inside to hide away from 'each your haters under wing.' He sighed and tried to hide, but I recall the alien eyes and what that felt like. ‘cause they were happy laughing there, then the delayed 'window' came. Don’t allow yourself to vacantly lead any kind of virtuous life. Because each of us is both of them. One blowing out, one breathing in. The stuff in ' is words i just kinda made up cause the sound right but the rest i think fits ok. Hopefully someone will come along that really gets it soon because it is a great song. Very chilled and melodic. |
