| Bon Iver – Creature Fear Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I always thought he was saying "so many foreign roads, so ready to be found" Even though these are not the lyrics, I am going to continue to pretend they are. |

| Conor Oberst – Cabbage Town Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's "batch", not badge | |
| Animal Collective – Also Frightened Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| i really like animal collective, but the songs on mpp were really hit or miss with me. this happens to be one of my favorites, though. | |
| Elliott Smith – New Monkey Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| the word junkie is right in the first verse. i don't want anyone trying to argue that this is not about drugs. | |
| Man Man – Mister Jung Stuffed Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The title refers to Carl Jung, perhaps?? | |
| Elliott Smith – Alphabet Town Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I don't think it's ABOUT drugs, but more of experiences while on drugs. I can't ignore a phrase like "And you threw up whatever she shot down" Any reference to "shooting" makes me think of heroin I also noticed an emphasis on speech ("won't say you're wrong", "a name you can't pronouce", "with someone who'll hear you say it")... or maybe i'm just high |

| Animal Collective – Peacebone Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"an obsession with the past is like a dead fly" When I was little I used to wash the windows for my mom, and there were always flies in the ledge, so I would spray them with the chemicals until they died, but I would feel overwhelming guilty about it right after and obsess over it until my mom would let me give them a funeral. |

| Elliott Smith – A Living Will Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
upbeat tune, but the lyrics really make up for that for me. I don't think it's fair for people to say that a song isn't about drug use only on the basis that people believe a lot of Elliott Smith's songs are about drugs. I think this particular song is about dealing with addiction. It's safe to say if a songwriter is addicted to heroin, his music is going to reflect that. |

hahah this sounds precisely like some of the things i've jotted down while on dissociative drugs it sounds much better done by conor, though |

| Conor Oberst – Gentleman's Pact Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"Every hallway has a camera Every hallway has a camera don't you know They never let you open the window" That part reminds me of being in the hospital. They wouldn't let any of the patients go outside or even open a window. I think it's just about feeling trapped in routine and/or addiction. You want to break out, but "All that you keep is the journey, all you keep are the spaces in between It's not the fresh start or the ending All that you keep is the journey" is about not forgeting where you have come from. |

| Conor Oberst – I Don't Want to Die (In the Hospital) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| the only thing i currently like more than "morphine in my blood like a slow sad song" is the morphine in -my- blood. | |
| Tilly and the Wall – The Freest Man Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I'm not going to say this song isn't about Conor Oberst, but I will say: how would any of us know? Just because we listen to his music doesn't mean we know anything about him. And - on another note: I personally know about four boys who fit this description very well.. so, it seems naive to speculate that this is about Conor Oberst because it's about a boy on drugs. | |
