I just joined this site to add my comments. For some reason, most songs from Chris just seem to me like they are about missing somone who had to move away. Between Dusk and Summer, So Long So Long, New Years Project, and Snowbirds and Townies, most of his lyrics are about being away from somone. "Your hands didn't move well neither did mine" It just seems to me that they are holding eachother close and not moving. "New Years Will Bring So much to say but nothing comes out right both of us left without words both of us lost in this world it's softer than ever before" Both of them don't even need to speak, and they can't speak how they feel about eachother completley, beacuse that's a tuff thing to do. But they are lost in this trance with eachother, together. "the keeper of these hands to hold you now it is a far cry, more than anything that i deserve" Basically saying he doesn't even deserve her, because she is so perfect. "i'm waiting to give you whatever the world may bring i'd give you my life cause i don't own anything it seemed like the bottom was all that i had until now i'd give you my life, if you'd give me yours somehow" Basically saying he will do everything for her that he can, but he doesn't have much else besides her. He wasn't doing good until she came back, and that he'd give himself to her, if only she'd be in the same place with him forever. Maybe this song only comes across as this to me beacuse my girlfriend and I have listened to this a lot together and she has had to move far away. However, I will be seeing her this winter, over Christmas break. This song will be perfect. :) |
