The path to love is shattered. He's telling her to run to the sound of the light and hopefully the cracks in the pavement lead her back to him when she finds her way out. He sings about dreaming of better times, when he could touch her and see her sleeping.''' It's beautifully metaphorical. I think Frankenstat_5150 explained it best. The first time I heard it I also thought of Interview With the Vampire. Listen to Decemberunderground with the book/movie Interview With A Vampire and things start to make sense. Love Like Winter has a very (to me, at least) clear vibe of the perspective of Louis talking about Lestat and Claudia (he/she bit my lip and drank my warmth from years before) Endlessly, She Said has lines of: I have been waiting for you Biting as you taught me to I have come to relieve you Of life and love I will wait for you Again, very Claudia to Louis like. Miss Murder at first did seem very Jesus like, but then I went back and applied the Vampire theory to it and now I can't see anybody but Claudia in the role of Miss Murder, and Lestat being the "father" fits the "We're left to wonder why he left us all behind" and "Hey Miss Murder can I make beauty stay if I take my life?" is something I'd imagine Louis asking Claudia. Also, the bridge lyric of "We're the empty set just flowing through, wrapped in skin, ever searching for what we were promised." Eternal life as a bloodsucking undead can't be all that fulfilling. But that's just my take on the album. I love it. I love vampires too and it's like the perfect soundtrack for a modern Lestat/Louis/Claudia triangle to my mind :) |

If you listen to this with the concept of Anne Rice's Interview With A Vampire in mind, the entire album Decemberunderground makes total sense. The references to biting in several songs: Love Like Winter: he/she bit my lip and drank my warmth from years before (Lestat and Claudia to Louis) Endlessly, She Said: I have been waiting for you Biting as you taught me to I have come to relieve you Of life and love I will wait for you (Claudia to Louis) Even Miss Murder references that people claim to be Jesus Christ are more like references to the immortality of vampires. And no, I was not high nor drunk when this came to me. I'm sXe, long before I even became a fan of AFI :) |

| This song reminds me of a friend that recently died. I'm pretty sure that it's also about somebody close to her that died, as opposed to something religious such as Jesus. True believers in Jesus wouldn't feel "lost without you until the last of days" as they believe that Christ is with them at every step. | |
