I always thought this was something of a comedy, poking fun at really die hard skeptics. He goes to heaven, and he's STILL an athiest. The people there STILL don't believe in God. I felt like the whole styrofoam boots thing was say that if theres a god, he may give us the tools to be happy, to save ourselves. But people are still going to be miserable. The whole walking on water thing reminds me of when christ did it, and how none of the apostles had enough faith to walk with him even after they had just watched him do it. The one that tried almost drowned. Isaac Brocks saying he's not capable of having that kind of true faith. There is sort of an ambivalence towards religion here similar to Wild Packs of Family Dogs. |
