Bishop Allen – Wekh Lyrics 17 years ago
First of all, this song is incredibly addicting. Once you listen to it, you cannot get enough. This song has an absolutely breathtaking narrative, and allows you to follow this man's journey through the Kentucky hills. I really don't even mind the references of the stereotypical religious southerner clinging to their bibles. All in all, this song describes a way of life in certain regions and someone's appreciation of something they normally wouldn't even consider.

i think the line is: Suddenly the stars explode and the sky's all full of holes (which makes sense with the second line of the verse). But thank you for posting so many BA songs! I was disappointed when the EPs didn't include lyrics like Charm School.

first off, i fucking LOVE this song. it continues to give me chills. the song in itself is pretty self-explanatory. the song is comparing the kennedy assassination to the suicide of a friend. i think the song captures the parallels beautifully. kennedy died on november 22, 1963 in dalllas, texas and obviously his friend died on november 22. he will always remember exactly where he was when his friend committed suicide. just as everyone rememebers where they were when kennedy was shot.

P.S. my favorite line would have to be, "i couldn't help but wonder, did you think of me?" goddamn, it's just too good it hurts.

Bright Eyes – A Song to Pass the Time Lyrics 19 years ago
i hate when conor's music is categorized as depressing/emo. i believe it is an oversimplification. sure it has depressing elements, but ultimately each record is a triumph. conor presents a conflict but through the course of the song, he overcomes it. he realizes depression can be consuming, but he also realizes that there some things that are worth living for. so, i encourage people to delve into the transition conor provides and stop applying his hopeful music to your pseudo-depressed lives.
