this song is completely amazing. kinda a cop out to those who want to 'save the world' but really cant be bothered. i think i might try saving the world and the like. but the song is more saying cmon guys, theres a million things to think about but the most important are what you thin about least. the songs pretty straightforward, but i love it all the same. technicallitys in simplicity maybe? x |

"dont mean to be all pessimistic on ya guys but i only hear the 'i'll slit my wrists' bit which is like 4 words out the long list of lyrics surposedly there. so maybe just cuz someone added the lyrics and suddenly agrees thats what theyre hearing because some one already put it in their heads. or maybe im just lacking in hearing skills??? wateva. i like this song better backwards. i think it adds more emotion. x " sorry that didnt come out right. i meant like - that the lyrics that are surposedly there are only heard once someones put them into your head. so by reading the lyrics your brain searches for a way for it to fit and makes sense of gerards gurgles. because if you hear the song before you read tho the lyrics its just a nice tune... did that make better sense? x |

"there's a tear in the fabric of your favorite dress and i'm sneaking glances. looking for the patterns in static they start to make sense the longer i'm at it." The first bits pretty obvious, theres a rip in her dress, and he's looking where he shouldnt. but the second bit i think is meaning 'static' as in something blury, thats not making sense to him. Like his feelings for her, or the reasons why he has sneak glances, why he cant just say how he feels but the more he thinks about the problems, or the bluriness, the more it starts to make sence to him. "ivory lines lead, oo wha-ho, oo wha-ho" ivory lines, like the ladders on her tights, her ivory skin revealed underneath, leading upwards to 'oowhaoo' (for lack of a better way to decribe it lol) and he's feeling lust for that. "your heart is a river that flows from your chest through every organ your brain is the dam and i am the fish who can't reach the cord." Saying that your feelings, your love , goes from where u feel it the most - your heart - and goes to every part of you. You feel love in your belly when u get butterflys, or from your fingertips where you touch him where you shouldnt ect. But your brain stops you feeling this, stops the flow of emotions, becomes a dam, the more you think about the love your feeling the more you block it off by trying to explain it, by trying to stop it. Him being the 'fish' means he's swiming in these feelings, he's inside them, he's part of them, but he just can't satisfy her quite fully, for some reason she's expecting or wanting more from him that he just cant give. oh, instincts are misleading you shouldn't think what you're feeling they don't tell you what you know you should want. this song means the world to me. partly cuz of the part where it says "please dont worry lover when theres a lack of colour here' and i guess personally that meant for me dont give up, dont give in don't break into teeny tiny bits becuz of ur skin [which has no chance of getting a tan.. =(] but in a view that i guess, secondly i see is the way Alsatian puts it. i swear that guy/girls been eating too many knowledge pills. this song is just beeeauuutiful.. |

when i first heard this song it made me remember something my brother said once, how 'im so sick' was written after lacey - the lead singer of flyleaf - was raped and she let her anger and fear and humiliation out in that song. So to me this song is saying exactly wat Sercerteyes was getting at - it to me is about rape and saying how she didnt deserve it and how she cant see how the guy who did it thought she was anything more then she thinks she is [talking about how she looks] "I feel your eyes crawling over me As though I am something more than me But I don't have anything good enough to say I did not make myself this way I dont deserve it.." so yer.. i hope that comes out right.. |
